Get Housing
Community Learning Centers
Foundation Communities provides a lot more than a roof over someone’s head. Our model of “housing plus services” is what empowers people to truly succeed. With Community Learning Centers located right where families live, children and adults can increase their educational or economic standing without the barriers of transportation, cost or childcare.
Working parents depend on after-school and summer programs right where they live. Youth programs support reading and academic success and target childhood obesity through fun fitness activities and health and nutrition education.
Adult classes include English as a Second Language and financial education.
Learning centers provide a place for residents to gain knowledge and skills, learn to make sound financial decisions and increase their self-sufficiency while getting to know their neighbors and building a stronger community.

Featured Learning Center Success Story
Letter from a Southwest Trails Learning Center parent:
I just wanted to let you know how thrilled I am about the new homework hour that you are offering. My daughter Maria* has always been a good student until she started 4th grade. The teacher called me into conference about her concern of Maria’s skills in reading and writing.
I called Marisela (the learning center coordinator) right away with my concerns and spoke with the staff members about what Maria needs to work on. Marisela and her staff took Maria underneath their wing and Maria’s grades have improved greatly. Maria is on her way back to the A-B honor roll.
Maria is very proud of herself and what she has accomplished attending the homework hour. Maria is excited each and every day to head down to the learning center to do her homework. I don’t know how many parents can say that about their child’s attitude about homework. I feel this is such a positive and wonderful program. Keep up the great work!!
Sincerely,
Grateful Parent
